I’ve procrastinated on writing this one because I knew it would be a beast. There’s a lot of ground to cover! I suppose that’s the beauty of Westhaven—though it’s a neighborhood, one could easily argue that it’s a small town within a small town. It’s a model of new urbanism, a design principle that promotes walkability, mixed-use development, and sustainability. For those familiar, it feels a tad like Seaside sans the overcrowding. Westhaven is a place for community, a place for rocking chair front porches, and a more sustainable lifestyle. Here, you can walk, bike, or even use a golf cart to get what you need. I can’t wait to introduce you to this delightful neighborhood.
Housing Options in Westhaven
The first homes in Westhaven were sold in 2003. The neighborhood spans 1,500 acres and offers a mix of single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, Brownstones, and more recently, age-restricted housing.
Like most planned communities, Westhaven has an approved list of local builders. Homes are built by Ford Classic Homes, Legend Homes, SLC Homes (Southern Land Company), Stonegate Homes, Zurich Homes, and Reserve SLC Homes—all locally respected builders capable of upholding community standards.
On that note, it’s worth mentioning that while Southern Land Company is a builder in the community, they are also the developers. In fact, they are developing a sister community called Storyvale in Nolensville.
How many homes are in Westhaven?
Westhaven is still under development and expected to be completed in 2031. Upon completion, the master-planned community will feature approximately 3,500 single-family homes, townhomes, and condominiums. This includes the 180 for-sale and 200 rental residences in the active adult community for residents ages 55 and older. If you want to learn more about the age restricted portion of Westhaven, head here.
Home Pricing
The 55+ community is currently the most affordable section of Westhaven, with prices starting in the $700s. Townhomes in the non-age-restricted portions of Westhaven are selling for over $800K, and detached homes start at over $1M.
Amenities and Events in Westhaven
Living in Westhaven is an amenity unto itself because it offers a unique lifestyle. On a beautiful day, residents stroll to the commercial district for a slice of pizza or enjoy time on the lake.
Throughout the year, Westhaven also hosts community events, including their annual art and music festival, Porchfest, weekly farmers market, holiday events for kids, and more.
Residents’ Club
Within Westhaven, there are also traditional amenities—mostly centered around the 15,000-square-foot clubhouse called the Residents’ Club. Inside the Club is a fitness center, movement studio, art center, 37-seat theater, drop-in daycare, playground, and Great Lawn. Outside, you will find a pool building with restrooms, a snack bar, and an 8,000-square-foot resort pool with a lazy river and waterslide. Plus, there are tennis courts.
The Pools of Westhaven
Westhaven is home to multiple pools in two different areas of the community, including the Residents’ Club and the Skube Swim Center. The Skube Swim Center, in particular, is a hub of social activity, hosting regular events and gatherings for residents. It is home to a competition swimming pool, a competition team, fire pits, a covered seating area, an event lawn, pickleball courts, café & grill, ping-pong tables, and more.
A complete list of pools in Westhaven includes:
- Fish Pool: For the 5 and under crowd. This pool is shallow and unheated.
- Lap Pool: For residents aged 18+. Heated saltwater pool for water aerobics or lap swimming.

Private Pools
Many of the yards in Westhaven are smaller, as the community emphasizes shared greenspaces over private lawns. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t add a private pool. While some lots might only accommodate a plunge pool, there are lots where a standard-sized pool is possible. If you want a pool home in Westhaven, we would be happy to help guide you.

The Commercial District and Schools
We’ve talked a lot about the Westhaven lifestyle, and perhaps the icing on the cake is that there is a Williamson County public elementary school located within the neighborhood: Pearre Creek Elementary. The school has a central location within the neighborhood, making it walkable or bikeable for many residents. When school is not in session, it’s not uncommon to see kids enjoying the playground and outdoor amenities, creating yet another “amenity center” for residents.
Just half a mile from the elementary school is the start of the commercial district, which includes a Kroger grocery store, coffee shop, gift shop, hair salon, restaurants, a preschool, and much more lining Front Street. This commercial district faces Westhaven Lake and Magli Green, which we talked about earlier. All in all, it’s a beautifully designed main street with timeless architecture that serves as a hub for residents.
Let’s Talk About Golf
First of all, there are currently no golf course-front lots in Westhaven. There is a small sliver of homes that have golf course views, but for the most part, the neighborhood and homes are on the south side of Boyd Mill Pike, and the Westhaven Golf Club is on the north side of Boyd Mill Pike. Despite being separated by a street, the Westhaven Golf Club is closely associated with the Westhaven neighborhood.
The Westhaven Golf Club opened in 2010 and features an 18-hole Arthur Hills-designed golf course, a Golf Performance Center, a practice facility, a full bar, a restaurant, a Turn Grille, and plenty of events and activities. While the Club does not have its own pool, non-resident members will gain access to the Skube Swim Center.
Multiple membership options are available and are classified as either golfing memberships or dining/social memberships. Golf and social memberships are separate from the Westhaven HOA. Initiation fees are 50K+, with annual dues starting at around 5K.
More information about membership can be found at golfwesthaven.com
Note: There is currently a wait list for both golf and dining/social memberships. There is no fee to join the dining waitlist but 20% of the golf membership fee is required to join the golf waitlist. The wait time for a dining membership was last quoted to us at about one year and we were told that the golf list wait is “unpredictable.”
